The three-wheeled Slingshot® is a daring new machine crafted from Polaris® DNA. With its short windscreen and low-sided open-air, side-by-side cockpit, the Slingshot® has the visceral appeal of a sportbike, but drives more like a lightweight sports car. It is, in short, a love letter to thrill seekers.
The Slingshot® wraps edgy, anime-like body panels around a tube-framed chassis. Up front is a double-wishbone suspension with coil-over shocks and a sway bar; the back is defined by a single aluminum swing arm. And even though it is classified as a motorcycle in most areas, the Polaris® Slingshot® comes with more safety features than a typical motorcycle.

The Slingshot® Includes Features You've Never Seen Before
The 2015 Slingshot® weights just about 1,700 lbs and is 149.6 inches long, 77.6 inches wide, and 51.9 inches tall, with a 105 inch long wheelbase and 5 inches of ground clearance. The three-wheeled speed machine comes with two 18-inch front wheels and a massive 20-inch rear wheel. Polymer body panels guarantee superior resistance to impacts, and also help rustproof it. The new Polaris® Slingshot® has an array of other standard and optional features, including a tilt steering wheel, a 4.3-inch LCD display console, a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, USB support, two lockable storage bins which can hold a helmet, a locking glove box, waterproof seats, and more.
Power Through With A 5-Speed Manual Transmission
The Slingshot® power is processed through a five-speed, manual stick-shift transmission, terminating in a motorcycle-style kevlar belt final drive. Polaris® has extensive experience optimizing similar drive systems in its other wildly successful powersports products. The Slingshot® big, grippy tires are a proprietary wide Kenda "Slingshot®" design that was developed specifically for the vehicle.
The 2015 Polaris® Slingshot® is avaliable in two colors: a dark-colored base model, and the premium red SL version. The differences between the base model and the SL includes one-inch larger, uprated 5-spoke wheels on the SL, plus the inclusion of the aforementioned LCD screen, audio package, backup camera, and windscreen.
